Inside the Studio

These companion paintings capture two quiet moments inside the same working studio. One centers on a model resting between poses; the other turns toward the marked, used environment where paintings are made. Together, they show both sides of the artistic process: the person in front of the canvas and the everyday labor behind it.

Between Poses

36 × 48

A model takes a quiet break between poses in the studio.

An Artist’s Sink

24 × 48

A studio sink marked by years of use reveals the everyday work behind painting.

Old Fashioned Pleasures

One woman gets the full spa treatment. The other becomes an Old Fashioned in human form. Together, the paintings present two women, two moods, and luxury served two ways.

Cocktail Hour: Old Fashioned

Warm amber, deep red, and citrus tones turn the classic cocktail into a human presence.

Leisure Hour

Close Contact

These paintings bring the viewer close enough to feel every texture, but never close enough to know everything. Together, they suggest that seeing more does not always mean knowing more.

Bare in White

48 × 60

White fur frames a bare woman, leaving her exposed and concealed at the same time.

Dressed in Dark

48 × 60

Dark fur and fabric close around the figure until she nearly disappears into what surrounds her.

A Tibetan Winter

Set in Tibet during a cold, dry winter, this collection captures quiet moments from everyday life. Heavy clothing, soft light, and thoughtful expressions bring both the season and the people into focus.

Against the Wind

24 × 30

A child looks down beneath a pale winter sky, bringing a trace of warmth to the muted scene.

Winter Light

48 × 48

A girl sits in a patch of winter light, her braids and heavy clothing emerging from the dark.

Companion

These paintings focus on the friendship between horse and rider. One horse stands beside its rider during a quiet pause; the other moves forward with her into the unknown. In both paintings, the horse shares the story with the woman rather than simply carrying her through it.

Equestrian

30 × 30

One woman pauses in daylight while a cat has already claimed the saddle.

Night Princess

30 × 30

A woman rides a white horse into the night, headed somewhere only she knows.

Salon by the Sink

What begins as a simple haircut becomes a full group production. The paintings turn an everyday grooming routine into a scene of careful work, humor, and organized chaos.

Just a Trim

48 × 60

One man takes the chair, one handles the scissors, and another fixes his own hair beside them.

Hair Production

48 × 60

Shaving cream, scissors, spray cans, and busy hands turn the same bathroom into a salon running at full speed.
